Ah, I see... well, I want to check it out personally before setting everything up...
... but wouldn't it be either removing one or adding two parts? It's a multiple of three... so 9 or 12.

I think I could do either one in my case.
If I scrap one... I'd probably get rid of the battle with Zero, since I don't need that part for the story; the first three establish his role, five shows his animosity to Sanaki, 6 and 7 show the lengths he's willing to go to help someone, while 8 and 9 are the buildup to the finale.
If I added two... well, the middle battle still has to be the Sanaki fight, so a battle would be added somewhere between Battle 2 and what is now 5. The last three fit perfectly together, so a battle would be added during the Rune subplot, either something added before what is now Battle 6 (so Rune would be the ally), between 6 and 7 (so Dark would likely be the ally again), or after 7 (so either the other half of the 4-on-4 fight, or something that happens after Rune defeats Elice)

If I scrapped one. It could be the battle with Dragmire and Zell on SFB. That battle was filler as it was.
If I had to add 2...
I would most likely add one after Team Dude meets back up and they go on for a bit. Fight someone else before Dude leaves again to take on Stunna.
And maybe one before the first one..like a flashback

Hey, c'mon, Zero, don't be like that. I actually was considering giving you a larger role in my story, maybe appearing in one of the parts that isn't made up yet, and having a role in Hero's portion of Shade Impluse (I was considering Jeryl for the role, but that wouldn't work what with Jeryl's role in SI)
And don't worry, we can help you with your portion of the story as well... but first, I want the game so I can learn every detail of the Quest Creator.

Well let's start with your backstory.
Unless you decided to change something (which is possible) you are in a nutshell Dark Kain by a different name.
So obviously you aren't the ...nicest guy.
And without the Real Kain to take out you need something else to do.

Oh this works out nicely. This is good news indeed.
If I had to take out one, the only one I could would be the eighth battle. The rest has to happen as it happens. The first one sets the stage and introduces Jeryl and Pho, and all the traits contained therein. The second battle consists of the betrayal of Pho and it establishes Jeryl's trust issues and a bit of his naivete. The third is when I actually join my team. The fourth is when I meet Etro. The fifth...well, I'll let you figure that one out. The sixth sets the tone for the rest of that DO. The seventh is when everything pulls together. The eighth and ninth, I'm still working on, and the tenth is my resolution. There are numerous issues however, so I would rather not do this. One of the major ones is that it changes my SI quite a bit. The ninth battle is when Etro is my assist, and that would not work at all right after the fight. That would then mean that she would have to be my tenth battle assist...which could work admittedly, but it changes my story quite a bit. It also changes my SI, if I do it this way...hmm...

My current plans involve this: At the end of my DO, I realize that Etro is not as evil as I thought her to be, so I accept my role as her pawn or whatever, only because I realize just how powerful Chip is. During my SI, when Etro is trying to boost my lifespan, I instead store the energy she is giving me away. I then basically suicide rush Chip, using Etro's power to weaken Chip for the rest of the heroes. It's at a very rough draft at the moment, but that's what I keep imagining in my head. In a sense, it shows how far he's willing to go to help his friends. In a sense, I'm similar to Dude, in that I sacrifice myself to give the heroes a better chance. If I don't, there's a chance I will survive, but the chances for my friends aren't as good as if I sacrifice myself. And yes, I like doing spoilers this way.

Alright, because of this new information, I realized my initial plan for my SI would not work. So I'm going to lengthen it. A lot. Instead of one SI consisting of five battles, there will instead be three SI's with three battles each.
The first SI has the player controlling Etro. This is the easiest of the three SI's. Etro fights predominately villains, with the exception of the last battle. Etro fights Dragmire, Kitmeng, and Hero of Time. Etro has no assist, but her summonstone changes to the exact counter of the opponents.
The second SI has the player controlling Phostopho. Yes, Phostopho. Yes, Pho helps at this point. Etro is his assist and Omega is his summon. This SI is about middle of the ground in terms of difficulty. Pho fights mostly heroes, but that's more because they attack him rather than him attacking them. Pho fights Zero (or Shinigami), Aqua, and Stunna.
The third SI has the player controlling Jeryl. I'm not going to lie. This SI is going to be hell. His assist changes depending on his battle, as does his summonstone. Jeryl fights Sanaki, Etro, and Chip. In his fight against Sanaki, both fighters are assistless, but Jeryl's health is cut. Yeah this is just my basic rough draft. I still have a lot to come up with. but I'm going to worry about my story first.
Speaking of said story, I decided I'm going to add two battles rather than take away one. It works better.

In other news Mogweb is absent from the US/EU versions for...no reason.
