Your Opinion on Pirating the Game?

I've been seeing way too many topics on GameFaqs of people asking for leaks.
I also noticed that Zell is one of them, and now I'm glad he's a Shadow Lurker.
So I'm asking, what's your opinions?

Personally, I hate it.
Pirating the game is illegal, so it's something you can go to jail for, and it takes alot of money from the company.

I find no good reason for pirating.
The game is cheap as hell, so you can't use the excuse it's too expensive or you don't have money.
The release dates are close, so you can't say you're just can't wait.
You can always buy a Japanese copy, so again you can't use the excuse that you can't wait.
I see no good reason for pirating.

What's all your opinions on this?

I don't pirate games, because Ninjas will kill you if you do so.

... oh, and that fact that I have money to buy games every once in a while, and Duodecim is pretty cheap as far as games are concerned (I usually get handheld games anyways)

Yeah, we've known about the release date and price for a while, so someone can't say they just didn't have enough money.
There has been more than enough time for anyone to plane and save up a measly $30.

I really don't know HOW to pirate games even if I wanted to =/

In fact the closest thing I tried to "Hack" on my PSP was changing the Dissidia music...which I learned I couldn't do because I use UMD

The only time I ever tried hacking, was to download The Legend of Dragoon on my PSP.

This is different than pirating a game, because it's a very old PS1 game, doesn't take money from everyone since I already own a copy of the game, and there were no signs of a PSN release.
I never got it working though.

But now, it was release on PSN, so I have it, and am happy.

I have to agree with Zell on the soundtrack though....I'm just to much of a sucker for music.
Plus I made it my job to upload all the Duodecim tracks so..yeah.

I'm not going to be a hypocrite, I download all my soundtracks for free.
I know, it's confusing, I disagree with game pirating, but am for soundtracks?

Either way, I'm so excited for Duodecim, I bought a copy of the limited edition soundtrack.
It's coming in the same shipment as me and Shinigami's copy of the game.

trust me I'm the same way when it comes to that...

I don't personally pirate games, but I don't really have a HUGE issue with people who do pirate, either.

Music, on the other hand.... there's a reason why my collection is as big as it is.

My iPod has over 4000 songs, I have no idea how much of that is actually purchased.

As soon as you can check if there are any dialogue limits in the quest maker.
Cause that can be our biggest problem

I mean, if I really like an album/soundtrack a whole lot, i'll make sure to actually buy a physical copy of it, without a doubt.

Games just set in a higher place, in my mind.

I don't usually get music so most of the time I buy it...but it's in Japan...and I spent my money getting the game in the first place...so you see where this leaves me.

Definitly Dude, checking out the quest maker is going to become a priority.

I want to make sure we have as much freedom as possible.

But honestly, how great of a quest can be made with only a few lines of dialogue?
I'm sure SE would give us alot of space.

I hate people who pirate games as they're about to come out. That's just bad taste and can really put a damper on a company's plans. Plus it's $30, and if you have to pirate a $30, you

A: are still in high school and have no job

B: are a full grown adult and are stingy as hell

C: are an asshole of the highest order

D: need to be shot and killed for the good of gamers who buy cheap new games.

I don't have a problem with the people who pirate the game because they never even wanted it.
I mean, theres no loss in sales if they only downloaded it because it's there.

But if you're a true fan, who's been eagerly awaiting this game, and have loved Square throughout the years, then buy the game.
Don't pirate if you're a true fan who really wants this game.

This is why I hate Zell so much right now.

I never have personally pirated a game. I want quality games, so pirating them would be meaningless

Ya know, for me it's mostly, I usually pirate the JP one but buy the english, Cause I wouldn't buy the JP anyways.

But beyond all this, I'm trying to find the link mostly so I can rip the models for you, but holy crap I don't think it's out there, ha ha.

Apparently it's not even playable right now, I seriously just want the models.

But, still, instead of pirating, why don't people just buy the JP one.
I mean, if people really want it so bad, then just pay for it.

Zell is pissing me off though, he kind of rubs it all in everyone's face and could care less who he hurts to get it.

I enjoy digital titles more so than physical ones.
If I can only get a physical version (as in, the game is not available on PSN) I will pay for a physical copy, and then put the digital copy I pirated on my psp.

That way I still get a digital copy, and Square Enix (or whoever) still gets there money.

As for me, like the majority of people here, I hate pirating the game, but soundtracks are fair game.

Now I'm legal on my music.

i dnt like pirating. it makes the companies make stricter bans or whatnot on their products. plus it hurts them financially wise. it makes them look bad and it eventually hurts others. however, what one does with their games is up to them. if they decide to buy something illegally or not, it their decision knowing the consiquences that may/may not come with it.

however, i agree with the music. all my music is downloaded. lol
